"Masters of Rebirth". Restoration of graphics of the XVIII - early XX century in 10 years
Rarely do any of us, coming to chic exhibitions in various museums and enjoying spectacular works of art, think about the fact that behind all this splendor lies the painstaking work of dozens of specialist restorers, prolonging the life of art objects, and sometimes restoring them literally from oblivion. Visitors to the Tretyakov Gallery will be immersed in the behind-the-scenes museum life, in the magic of restoration.
An amazing collection of names and masterpieces awaits the audience. Works by Karl Bryullov, Valentin Serov, Alexander Benois, Orest Kiprensky, Ilya Repin, Nikolai Ge, Zinaida Serebryakova, Marc Chagall, Vasily Kandinsky, Natalia Goncharova, Mikhail Larionov and many other artists will be presented.
The sections of the exhibition will be collected according to artistic techniques: pastel, watercolor; pencil, charcoal, sanguine, as well as printing techniques, mixed techniques. A special section will be made up of unique large-sized graphic works, the restoration of which was carried out by a whole team. To make the restoration processes more understandable to visitors, the exhibition will be provided with detailed "explanatory" information.
