"Change of scenery"
Grigory Bruskin is a Russian and American artist, one of the most famous and successful contemporary artists of Russian origin. In 2021, the master turned 76 years old, and he continues to actively create.
"Change of Scenery" by Grisha Brusnikin is a study of how cultural, historical and ideological mythologies are born, exist and turn into ruins. And how ruins in turn become the source of new mythologies.
As they say in the Tretyakov Gallery, Brusnikin creates the scenery of modernity, using the ancient metaphor of Theatrum Mundi (Theater of the World), where a new era destroys former empires and civilizations, demolishes monuments and erases memory, unifies world scenography, forms a new anthropology, bringing new heroes to the stage.
