"Alexander Nevsky. Name, symbol, legend"
The exhibition will feature iconic items from the collection of the Armory associated with the image and history of the veneration of the image of the famous ruler and warrior for centuries. A special place in the exhibition will be occupied by a helmet that belonged to Alexander Nevsky's father, Prince Yaroslav Vsevolodovich.
The central part of the exhibition is connected with the history of the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky, established by the plan of Emperor Peter I by his wife Empress Catherine I in 1725. The exhibition will also feature badges of the Order of the second half of the XVIII - early XX century, which belonged to Russian and European monarchs. Many order badges, including those with precious stones, are being displayed for the first time.
Special attention is drawn to the complex of ceremonial costume of the late XVIII century, including the vestments of the Order herald, cavalier and secretary. Among the exhibits is a handwritten original of the "Establishment for Russian Orders" of 1797. In addition, visitors will see the magnificent helmet of Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich, which is often associated with the image of Alexander Nevsky.
