Museum for Everyone campaign to be held on the first weekend in December

Museum visitors will be able to take part in tours, workshops, contests and creative classes, and watch theatrical shows and attend concerts.

On 1-2 December, Moscow will join the second Museum for Everyone all-Russian promotion. The main goal is to get disabled people involved in cultural life. Special programmes will be developed for them.

Many people know and visit museums from a young age. But is it easy for visually challenged or hearing-impaired people or those in wheelchairs to visit museums? Museums are capable of creating a convenient environment where everyone can connect to the world of art, campaign organisers believe.

Disabled people, their friends and relatives and anyone in general will be able to take part in tours, workshops, contests and creative classes, and watch theatrical shows and attend concerts. All of this will be held at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, the Tsaritsyno Estate Museum, the Ostrovsky Integration Museum and Cultural Centre, the State Darwin Museum and many others.

The Museum for Everyone promotion was first held in 2017 as part of the Inclusive Museum project. About 250 museums from 65 Russian regions joined it. After reviewing the programme, it was decided to run the campaign every year on the first Saturday in December.
